Towel and linen laundry for salons, barbers and guest houses in Hartlepool

If you run a salon, a barbershop or a guest house, towels never stop coming. Every client, every guest, every chair means another one in the basket, and somebody has to deal with it. I'm Inga, and I run Injakster, a small home laundry on Wharton Street in Hartlepool. Alongside family washing, I do a weekly laundry round for local businesses: towels, gowns and linens collected on a fixed day, washed, dried and folded, and back with you before you need them — from £2.80 per kilo.

The hidden cost of doing towels in-house

Most small businesses I talk to don't pay for laundry — they pay for it in staff time instead. Someone breaks off between clients to move a load over. The machine is running mid-shift, right when the salon should feel calm. At closing time, when everyone wants to go home, there is still a pile to fold. And the washer itself — usually an ordinary domestic machine — is doing commercial work, day in, day out.

None of that shows up as a line on your accounts, which is exactly why it is easy to ignore. But add up the interruptions across a week and it is real working time spent on washing instead of on the clients who actually pay you. Handing it over turns an invisible cost into one small, predictable bill — and gives your team their shift back.

How the weekly service works

It is deliberately simple, because that is what a busy business needs:

• A fixed collection day, every week. You bag the used towels and linens, I collect them on the same day each week, so it becomes part of the routine rather than a decision.
• Washed, dried and folded. Everything comes back ready to go straight onto the shelf or the bed. Standard turnaround is 48 hours, and I can turn things around next-day on request if you are caught short.
• One invoice a month. No paying on the day, no card machine dance — a single monthly invoice covering the month's collections.
• No contracts. If it doesn't work for you, you simply stop. I'd rather keep your business by doing the job well than by a signature.

The per-kilo rate depends on what you send and how much of it there is each week — ring me on 07472 108751 and I'll give you a firm quote. If you just want to try the service before committing to a weekly round, a one-off load is an easy way to test it. I work within roughly 9 miles of Wharton Street, which covers Hartlepool and the villages around it.

What I take

The weekly round is built around the textiles small businesses go through fastest:

• Towels — salon, barber and gym towels of every size
• Gowns and aprons — client gowns, cutting capes worn as gowns, staff aprons
• Tea towels — for cafés and kitchens
• Bedding — sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases for guest houses
• Tablecloths — for cafés and dining rooms

Salons, barbers, guest houses, cafés and gyms are the businesses I set the service up for, but if you go through linen every week and you are within my radius, get in touch and we will work something out.

Why a one-woman laundry, not a big plant

Two things I do differently. First, your washing is done in its own separate load, never mixed with another business's or another family's — what comes back is yours, all of it, every time. Second, I use a vegan detergent that is kind to skin and strong on stains. That matters more in a salon or a guest house than almost anywhere else: your towels and bedding sit against your clients' skin all day, and you don't want harsh residues doing your reputation harm.

Because I also do sewing in-house, small textile repairs can ride along with the wash — a small repair starts at £5.50 and a replacement button is £2.50, so a fraying apron or a popped button on a gown doesn't need a separate errand.

What I don't do

I don't do dry cleaning — everything here is washed and pressed by hand, with sewing done in-house. Anything labelled dry clean only should go to a dry cleaner. For towels, gowns, aprons, bedding and tablecloths, that is never an issue: they are made to be washed, and washed well.
